Cambodia: Avian Influenza, human

The Ministry of Health of Cambodia reported one more new human case of H5N1 Avian Influenza. The ninth case was a 35-year-old man from Kbal Ou Village, Stueng Trang District in Kampong Cham Province. He developed symptoms on 8 February and died on 25 February 2013.

Indonesia: Chikungunya Fever

A 53-year-old woman was infected with Chikungunya Fever after returning from a trip to Bali, Indonesia in December 2012.

Japan: Rubella

The number of rubella cases in Japan, especially in Tokyo and surrounding prefectures, has been increasing rapidly since January 2013.

Thailand: Dengue fever

In Thailand, the number of patients with dengue fever has increased 5 times compared to that reported during the same period in 2012.

Kenya: Dengue fever

In Kenya, a dengue fever outbreak is taking place in Mandera District, along the Ethiopian and Somali borders.

United Kingdom: Measles

62 confirmed cases of measles were reported in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, between October 2012 and January 2013. The number is a significant spike compared to previous years.

Uganda: Measles

In Uganda, 159 cases of measles were reported in Hoima district.
